Delhi BJP vice-president caught on video offering Rs 4 crore bribe to an AAP MLA
· Promises to make the MLA meet his party high command
· Says RSS is agreeable to form government in Delhi through defections
· Claims he is in touch with atleast four other MLAs
The real character of BJP stands fully exposed and this time it has been caught red handed. It is an admitted fact now that the BJP is desperate to form a government in Delhi by hook or by crook. For doing so, it has no hesitation whatsoever in even indulging in the most unethical practices, including engineering defections by offering bribes to MLAs. Read More
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) challenges union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to prove his claims made over the last two days that the Central Vigilance Commission had rejected or opposed the appointment of whistleblower officer Saneev Chaturvedi as the Chief Vigilance Officer of AIIMS.
The health minister is changing his stand everyday and is making false statements in a desperate bid to wriggle out of his unjustified and untenable decision to compromise with corruption by having shunted out a honest officer on the instructions of BJP leadership. The health minister had tweeted (August 22) that Chaturvedi had been twice rejected by the CVC and that his continuation as CVO of AIIMS was “irregular and indefensible”.
The minister on Saturday changed his stand from rejection to opposition by the CVC in 2012 and 2013. The AAP dares the health minister to put in public domain any document which has support his claim.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demands the immediate resignation of union health minister Dr Harshvardhan failing which the Prime Minister should sack him for his illegal action of having approved the shunting out of whistleblower officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi from the post of Chief Vigilance Officer of AIIMS.
It is shameful that the health minister is defending his shocking action to save his skin, but either he is ill-informed or is deliberately trying to mislead the nation for his blatant compromise with corruption.
AS the CVO of AIIMS, Chaturvedi had recommended CBI probes in scams involving top officials of AIIMS and the AAP is making public nine of these important cases.
The BJP-controlled Delhi administration’s stand before the High Court on Tuesday to curtail the powers of the Anti Corruption Branch flies is the most blatant example of the ruling party’s direct and shameful compromise with corruption.
The BJP’s central government, as part of its deliberate strategy to reduce the Delhi ACB into a meaningless body, has taken a series of completely unjustified steps which prove its highly suspect motive of bailing out the Reliance Industries Limited and former ministers of the UPA government, despite their direct involvement in the Rs 54,000 crore natural gas pricing scam. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will move the Election Commission next week to seek disqualification of a BJP MLA in Delhi, Mr Ranjit Singh for having cheated the election authorities and the people by having produced a fake Scheduled Caste certificate to contest the polls. Mr Singh used a fake SC certificate to contest the 2013 Delhi assembly election from Gokulpur (reserved) constituency in North East Delhi.
The party has decided to move the EC under the relevant provisions of the Representation of the People Act, after having perused the relevant documents, from which a clear case of disqualification is made out. According to the AAP, it is not only a clear and proven case of concealment of facts before the election authorities, but a case of forgery and cheating is also made out against this MLA. Read More
The Aam Aadmi Party will begin its signature campaign demanding fresh election in Delhi, on Wednesday, August 13.
The Aam Aadmi Party demands that the BJP-led central government should immediately withdraw the union home ministry’s completely unjustified notification which severely curtails the jurisdiction of the Anti Corruption Branch of Delhi government.
The July 23 notification of the home ministry, reported by the Hindustan Times today (Monday), renders the very existence of the Delhi ACB as futile. It is extremely shocking that the Narendra Modi government which came to power on the promise of eradicating corruption, is doing completely the opposite of that. The amendment to the original notification of 1993, now states :“ This notification shall apply to the officers and employees of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.” Read More
Myth: The agitation opposes aptitude test, which is being used all over the world.
Truth: The movement has opposed CSAT but not the idea of an aptitude test. The older pattern of examination too had some questions that tested linguistic and quantitative skills (included in General Studies then). This was never objected to. The objection now is that CSAT is not the right kind of aptitude test. Specifically, the objection is that: 1) CSAT has more weightage and higher cut-off than is appropriate; 2) Items on quantitative skills have disproportionate weight as compared to analytical and decision making skills; 3) Section on language comprehension skills is systematically biased against non-English students. In other words, the objection is that the current CSAT is neither language-neutral nor discipline neutral. That is why they have demanded scrapping of CSAT. The students have proposed more than one model of how an aptitude test appropriate for Civil Service may be designed. Read More
